The Hiratsuka Shrine in Tokyo — sharing the artist's family name but no proven family connection — is rendered in his characteristic bold black-and-white woodblock. The 1933 print captures the Shinto shrine's gateway architecture with the same formal clarity he brought to Buddhist temple complexes. It is among his earliest Tokyo shrine subjects, predating his major temple print campaigns.
