Ichigayahachiman — the Hachiman shrine at Ichigaya in western Edo — stood on a low hill overlooking the Kanda River valley, its approach lined with cherry trees that made it a popular blossom-viewing destination. The shrine was associated with warriors and the martial arts, drawing both devotees and pleasure-seekers. This numbered Edo view captures the shrine and its hillside setting.
