$500–$5,000. Common landscapes: $500–$1,500. Key value factors: Collaborative prints with Frank Brangwyn are most sought after.
A woodblock print by Yoshijiro Urushibara, the Japanese craftsman who became famous in early twentieth-century London for his collaborations with British artists, most notably Frank Brangwyn. Urushibara, who also used the art name Mokuchu, brought traditional Japanese woodblock carving and printing skills to European subject matter, creating a unique hybrid aesthetic. His prints were widely collected in Britain and helped introduce Western audiences to the subtleties of water-based woodblock printing at a time when most Europeans associated printmaking only with intaglio and lithographic techniques.
