Description
*Kozo I* (2015) by Yuko Kimura is a sculptural, three-dimensional object rather than a flat print: a rounded, drum-like mass of fibrous kozo bark, its upper portion dyed a reddish-brown with persimmon dye and left shaggy with loose, unraveling threads and fibers, while its lower band remains pale, undyed cream. The piece sits against a plain dark gray-to-black gradient background, photographed as a discrete object with visible texture and irregular, torn edges rather than a printed image on a flat sheet.
