Description

"Paper Windows no. 2" (2013) is a freestanding, cylindrical sculptural form made of cream-toned abaca paper wrapped into a hollow open-top tube, its irregular upper rim left ragged and uneven. A grid of reddish-brown thread is stitched horizontally and vertically across the surface, and where the threads cross or pull taut the paper has torn or been cut away, leaving open, window-like gaps that expose the tube's interior. The piece stands alone against a plain dark gray background, photographed in even studio lighting.
