Description

*Kozo V* (2016) is a sculptural, freestanding object rather than a flat print: a dense, elongated form of kozo bark fiber shaped into rounded, organic ridges and set against a plain dark gray background. One end is stained a deep purplish-brown, while the opposite end is worked into a pale, web-like open lattice of fibers with visible dark cavities beneath, stitched through with fine blue thread; the piece by Yuko Kimura rests directly on the surface with no additional figures or setting.
