Description
A circular composition set within a black-framed white mat depicts the exterior of a wooden building under an eave with dark diamond-patterned roof brackets against a mustard-yellow sky. The façade is divided into geometric sections showing pale gray-and-white latticed shoji screens on the left, a panel of rust-orange vertical slats at center, and a strip of green-striped shoji at the lower edge, all rendered in flat, bold blocks of black, gray, orange, and yellow-green. Clifton Karhu's 1990 woodblock print reduces the shoji screens and structural beams to hard-edged geometric patterning, with the artist's red seal and pencil signature visible below the circular image.
