Description
Mount Fuji fills the composition as a steep dark triangular mass rising to a jagged black-edged summit, its slope rendered in mottled green-gray with a magenta-red flush along the right edge where it meets the sky. The sky is a deep burnt orange scattered with a few dark horizontal cloud bands, while a large white cloud bank drifts across the mountain's lower left slope; the foreground is textured with brown, rust, and gray flecked ground and scattered pale boulders. The print bears the artist's pencil signature and Japanese characters at lower left and center, with "A.P." at lower right, consistent with the 1990 woodblock print "Evening Sky Mt. Fuji" by Hideo Hagiwara.
