Description
A woman stands beneath a dark umbrella against a solid black background flecked with falling snow, her body wrapped in a black outer coat over a patterned brown-and-gray kimono, with a small red accent visible at her collar. She turns her head to one side in three-quarter view, her dark hair upswept, set against the muted indigo interior of the umbrella above her. "Snowy Night," a 1923 woodblock print by Ito Shinsui, renders the scene in a restricted palette of black, gray, brown, and indigo, with white pigment marking the falling snow.
