A woodblock print depicting a figure or scene in snow, the second in what appears to be a series of snow-themed works by Joichi Hoshi. Snow was a recurring subject for Hoshi, whose tree imagery gained particular power when set against white winter fields. The snow simplifies the visual world, reducing competing detail and allowing a single tree trunk or cluster of branches to stand as the image's entire event.
