Saga Kaiunbashi

A row of white-walled, dark-roofed buildings lines a stone-embanked canal, with a low bridge crossing the water at left and distant hills visible under a grey-blue sky. A single figure in a dark robe with a blue sash walks along the paved street beside the canal, whose blue water reflects the buildings above. Kawase Hasui's 1950 woodblock print "Saga Kaiunbashi" renders the scene in muted whites, blues, and greys with dark timber accents on the facades.
