$5,000–$40,000. Common subjects: $5,000–$10,000. Key value factors: Very limited output makes all prints relatively scarce. The 'Styles of Contemporary Make-up' series is most collected.
"Black Hair" from the series "Kindai jisei no sho no uchi go," 1931, is the fifth design in Kobayakawa's makeup series — the same subject as "#5 Glossy dark hair" but identified here by its series designation. It captures a woman's dark, carefully arranged hair in the modern styles of 1931 Tokyo, the lustrous blacks rendered with the same technical mastery that Kobayakawa brought to all his close-focus beauty studies. The series title "Kindai jisei no sho" translates roughly as "Book of Contemporary Looks."
