"Object No. 4" is one of Onchi's explorations in the "objet trouvé" tradition — the found object as artistic subject, rendered through the medium of printmaking. His Object series treated specific physical things as worthy of sustained formal attention: a numbered series in which the object itself (whether depicted or incorporated into the printing process) became the print's primary reason for being. The serial format implied an ongoing investigation — a systematic working-through of what object-based printmaking could yield.
Curated cross-cuts that include this print.
Object No. 4 was created by Onchi Koshiro (恩地孝四郎).
Object No. 4 depicts still life and abstract.
