$2,000–$20,000. Common subjects: $2,000–$5,000. Key value factors: Jacoulet's limited editions (typically 350 impressions) and distinctive subjects make his work consistently sought after.
"Tsujido no Fuji" (Fuji from Tsujido) from 1929 is an early Jacoulet Japanese landscape — Mount Fuji seen from Tsujido on the Shonan coast, the ocean in the foreground, the mountain rising above the coastal plain. This relatively early work shows him engaging with Japan's most iconic landscape subject, applying his rich woodblock palette to a view of Fuji that differs from both the traditional shin-hanga and the Western impressionist approach: more saturated than Kawase Hasui, more formally Japanese than any European artist before him.
