Description
A frontal close-up of a bodhisattva or Buddha head with an ornate, tall crown or elaborate coiffure rendered in dense black woodgrain texture, set against a plain beige-toned ground. The face is rendered in mottled grey-black with a serene, downcast expression, heavy-lidded eyes, and a faint smile, with striated lines suggesting the folds of the neck below. A small red seal appears in the lower left corner and the work is pencil-signed "Kiyoshi Saito" with an edition number in the lower right; this woodblock print is by Saito Kiyoshi.
