Shotei's landscapes are his most widely available works. Signed lifetime editions with strong color and condition represent good collector value. Post-earthquake reprints lacking signatures and seals are common and trade at lower prices.
Lake Chuzenji near Nikko in autumn, surrounded by mountains ablaze with fall colors. The still surface of the lake reflects the fiery foliage and the blue sky above, creating a mirror image of extraordinary beauty. The vivid reds, oranges, and golds of the autumn leaves are offset by the cool blue of the water and sky.
