Description
Henmi died in 1944 at age 49, and his relatively small output — compared to the great span of a long printmaking career — reflects both his amateur status and the circumstances of the Pacific War years, when materials, time, and the broader cultural conditions for artistic production were severely constrained. These untitled prints are among the works that document his practice in its most private, unelaborated form.
