Description
Snow-dusted branches with elongated leaves and clusters of small red berries fill the composition, the white snow leaving only patches of green leaf visible beneath it. A small bird with a black-and-white head, dark blue-black wings marked with white, and an orange-brown breast and tail perches among the branches at right, facing left. The palette is soft — cream, white, sage green, and muted mauve-grey in the background — with Japanese text and a red seal along the right margin; this woodblock print by Uemura Shoen is titled New Snow (新雪).
