Description
A hooded, white-robed mountaineer with a stylized gray face—horizontal-striped features, large dark eyes, and a bold red mouth—fills the center of the composition against a flat black ground. Cradled in the figure's gray, mitten-like hands is a small striped bird with a red beak and tail markings, while a red dot floats near the lower left corner. The palette is limited to black, white, gray, and red, rendered in flat, graphic shapes typical of this 1972 color woodblock print by Umetaro Azechi.
