Description
A red umbrella with a black handle spans the top of the composition against a solid blue-gray background, its scalloped edge shedding drops that pool into a cluster of round red faces below. Each face is outlined in a paler blue-gray ring and marked with a simple white nose or brow stroke, giving the raindrops a stylized, mask-like appearance. The palette is limited to flat red, blue-gray, and black, arranged in bold, graphic shapes with no shading or linear perspective. *Rainy Day*, a woodblock print by Umetaro Azechi (year unknown).
