Description
White Figure—a human form rendered primarily in white against a contrasting ground—shows Azechi using the absence of color, or the full presence of white, to create figure against field through value rather than hue. The white figure might be a climber in snow conditions where their white winter clothing merged with the surrounding snowscape, or a more abstract chromatic experiment exploring what happens when the human form is rendered in the same tone as its environmental context.
