Description
Snowy Temple Garden — a Kyoto temple precincts under fresh snowfall, the garden's carefully arranged stones and pruned trees transformed by white accumulation into a different kind of composition. In Japan's Zen tradition, snow in the garden is not an intrusion but a seasonal form that the garden takes — the raked gravel covered, the stone lanterns capped, the moss cushions softened under white weight. Nisaburo's snow garden captures the particular stillness that snow brings to spaces already designed for contemplative silence.
