One of multiple recorded impressions of Hasui's Miyajima winter sky composition, this print depicts the sacred island of Miyajima in Hiroshima Bay under cold, clear winter conditions. The design—likely centering on the torii gate of Itsukushima Shrine against open sky and calm water—was printed in multiple editions by Watanabe Shozaburo across different years, resulting in impressions that vary in color tonality, ink intensity, and paper quality. Early impressions from the 1920s original run typically show crisper key-block lines and more nuanced [bokashi](/glossary/bokashi) in the sky zone. The precise printing state of this example can be assessed through comparison of the torii's vermillion gradation and the density of the water reflections.
