Description
A night street scene rendered in deep indigo and blue-black tones, with a row of wooden buildings lit from within by warm yellow window light along the left side. Strings of small red-orange lanterns hang beneath the eaves, and a utility pole with wires rises against the dark sky at center. Two figures in pale kimono walk along the street in the foreground, near a low railing beside a canal or waterway that reflects the lit windows.
*Night Scene at Soemoncho*, Kawase Hasui, woodblock print.
