Winter in Aizu (Aizu no fuyu), a 1938 woodblock print by Saito Kiyoshi, renders a snow-covered village street in black, grey, and cream tones, with thatched and wooden rooftops heavily blanketed in snow on either side. Two dark, near-silhouetted figures — an adult and a child, hand in hand — walk down the cleared path toward the viewer, while a third smaller figure stands further back near a utility pole strung with wires. The scene is rendered with flattened, angular shapes and heavy black outlines, and bears the artist's red seal and pencil signature in the lower left corner.
