Description
A wooden pile bridge spans a wide river during heavy snowfall, its plank surface and railings dusted white as small figures cross, one in a red garment standing out against the muted scene. In the foreground a bare, snow-laden tree leans out over the water from the near bank, its branches sweeping across the upper composition. The palette is dominated by cold blue-greens and grays, with the river rendered in dense dark strokes and streaked throughout by driving white snow lines.
