Description
An untitled sosaku-hanga woodblock from Henmi's practice — the image representing the private, exploratory dimension of his output that ran alongside the more public, exhibited work. Henmi was a poet as well as a printmaker, and his images were often conceived in the same lyric spirit as his verse: as concentrated responses to specific experiences of place, weather, season, and time of day.
