Description
An untitled woodblock print from Henmi's sosaku-hanga practice. Henmi's international recognition — his 1934 Paris exhibition — was unusual for an amateur Japanese printmaker, and it attests to the genuinely high standard of his self-printed work. These untitled prints are part of the output that earned him that recognition, works made in the private hours of a life otherwise given to accounting, poetry, and the quiet rhythms of a creative practice sustained alongside ordinary working life.
