Description
He died in 1944, the last year of a war that had depleted Japan's artistic materials and cultural life, and his final years of production were likely constrained by circumstances as much as by choice. The untitled prints in his oeuvre represent both his most exploratory work and the documentation of a practice carried on under increasingly difficult conditions.
