Description
An untitled woodblock print from Henmi Takashi. His dual career as accountant and printmaker gave his artistic life the quality of sustained private devotion — work made not for income but for the necessity of making it, each print a record of an artist's encounter with his subject and his medium. The untitled prints are perhaps the most honest expression of this private devotion, works made without the mediation of a title's explanatory frame.
