Description
A climber in a dark hooded garment fills the right side of the composition, shown in profile with a stylized angular face, gazing left across a range of snow-covered peaks rendered in flat white and grey planes against a teal-blue sky. Bare hands emerge from the dark cloak, one raised near the shoulder; below, a small oval pool or basin of pale green appears among the rocks at lower left. The palette is limited to teal, white, grey, and near-black, with bold flat color areas and minimal linear detail. Woodblock print, "Mountain Climber," Umetaro Azechi, 1952.
