Description
A snow-covered day rendered through the flat, graphic treatment of Henmi's sosaku-hanga woodblock technique, the world simplified into the essential contrasts of white ground and dark form. Snow was among Henmi's most frequent subjects, and he explored its visual effects across many settings — urban streets, forests, mountain landscapes, and coastal scenes — finding in each a different quality of white silence. This print likely belongs to a winter series from his most productive decade.
