Description
A three-story pagoda with vermillion beams and snow-capped tiled roofs rises against a dark grey sky filled with falling snow, its slender finial reaching toward the top edge. Snow-laden pine boughs bank against the pagoda's base, beside a stone-walled terrace with a low fence and lantern posts, also blanketed in snow, that leads down a stepped path at lower left. The palette is limited to grey, white, dark green, and touches of red, with the artist's seal and signature inscribed vertically at the lower left — consistent with the 1926 Kawase Hasui print "Yasugi Kiyomizu Temple, Izumo Province," a color woodblock oban from the series "Selection of Views of Japan."
