Description

An abstracted reclining figure fills the composition, rendered as flat interlocking planes of dark indigo, black, and grey against pale cream. At left a stylized profile head appears in dark brown with a string of white pearl-like dots along the jaw, while the elongated grey and white curved forms sweeping across the center suggest a draped body or limb; fine horizontal grain lines texture the pale upper and lower bands. *Maya's Sacrifice*, a 1956 woodblock print by Hodaka Yoshida, is signed and dated in pencil at the lower right.
